Comparison - as of July 2026

Gemini Omni Flash can't edit your videos in the EU. Antilopax can.

Google's Omni Flash is impressive - and editing uploaded footage is switched off for the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. Antilopax runs AI video editing on your own footage, from Europe, today.

What Gemini Omni Flash actually does - and does well

Omni Flash is Google's conversational video model: you describe an edit in plain language and it generates the result. It's fast, it's genuinely good at short generated clips, and at $0.10 per second of output video a ten-second pass costs about a dollar. For drafting concepts and social snippets from scratch, it's a real step forward. Credit where it's due.

The part Google switched off for Europe

Per Google's own documentation (as of July 2026): "Editing uploaded videos is not currently available for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and the United Kingdom."You can edit videos the model generated - but you cannot upload your own footage and have Omni edit it. For creators and businesses in Europe, that's the entire use case. Antilopax was built EU-first, so nothing here is region-locked: upload your footage, edit it, download the result.

Why untouched pixels are the real difference

A conversational editor regenerates the whole frame on every pass - faces, on-screen text, logos and background detail are re-imagined each time, which is why small identity drifts creep in. Antilopax's editing tools are mask-based pipelines: the model only generates inside the region you're changing, and every pixel outside it is preserved exactly. If the footage contains your client's face or brand, that difference is the whole job.

When Omni Flash is the right choice anyway

Honest answer: if you're outside the EEA and want quick generated clips or conversational riffs on AI-generated material, Omni Flash is excellent and you should use it. Antilopax is the right tool when the footage is yours- when it needs to stay 1080p or better, run longer than ten seconds, keep unedited regions pixel-identical, or when you're simply in Europe and want this to work at all.

FAQ

Why is Gemini Omni Flash video editing not available in Europe?

Google has not published a reason. Its documentation states that editing uploaded videos is not currently available for users in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK, while editing model-generated videos is. The common reading is regulatory caution around processing user-uploaded footage of real people under EU rules. Antilopax is not affected: it is built and operated in Germany for exactly this use case.

Is Antilopax really an alternative to Gemini Omni Flash?

For editing your own footage from Europe, yes - that is the product: object removal and replacement (Video Inpaint), aspect-ratio conversion for Shorts and Reels (ReFormat), extending a video past its last frame (Video Extend), cleanup, and upscaling to 4K. For generating brand-new clips from a text prompt, Omni Flash and similar models are the better fit - Antilopax edits real footage rather than generating videos from scratch.

What does it cost compared to Omni Flash?

Omni Flash charges $0.10 per second of generated output, and every retry is a fresh charge. Antilopax uses per-second credit pricing in a similar range (see the pricing page for each tool) - with one structural difference: failed jobs are refunded automatically, so you pay per successful result.

Is my footage used to train AI models?

No. Your uploads are processed to produce your result and nothing else - they are never used for training. Storage is EU-hosted, and projects are automatically deleted after 7 days.

Will this page stay accurate when Google changes Omni Flash?

The comparison reflects Google's documentation as of July 2026, and we re-check it when Omni's EEA availability, caps or pricing change. If Google enables uploaded-video editing in the EEA, we'll note the change here.

Can I use a VPN to use Omni Flash from the EU?

Circumventing a regional restriction generally violates the provider's terms of service and puts your Google account at risk. If your footage and your business are in Europe, using a service that is actually available here is the safer path.
